Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated enthusiastic individual to Lead the Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Nursing team at Harrogate District Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the personalised care and support agenda for patients diagnosed with and Upper GI cancer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to provide professional and clinical leadership and management to the nursing team. The post holder will be an integral part of the local diagnostic multidisciplinary team and develop strong links with the tertiary service to ensure streamlined patient pathways. The successful candidate will undertake nurse led clinics to support patients at all stages in their pathway ensuring timely access to treatment and meeting their supportive care needs. Access to further training and education appropriate to the role is actively encouraged and supported.Main duties of the job a) Provide specialist nursing care to patients with an Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, through personalised care and support planning. b) Provide professional leadership and management to the upper GI Specialist Nursing team working closely with the tertiary centre c) Be a practising health care professional with a current registration. During the course of their work they will interact with patients over the delivery and provision of their care which will involve judgements over a range of complex clinical issues.
