Full Job Description
The Senior ICA Engineer will play a crucial role in the ICA Engineering team within the Thames Water Below Ground Engineering Department. This position supports the objectives and future goals of Thames Water's AMP8 program. The ideal candidate will be a valuable asset with expertise in designing and specifying instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems, data and telemetry networks, and Safety Instrumented Systems. What you'll be doing as a Senior ICA Engineer
- Support and develop technical requirements in the project technical briefs.
- Lead functional safety SIL determination exercises and LOPA studies.
- Review or approve ICA designs as appropriate.
- Input and continuously improve Technical Asset Standards.
- Ensure and deliver the Engineering Regulatory compliance on relevant assets in the ICA area.
- Assist in the definition of obsolescence upgrades. Based in Hybrid, Clearwater Court, you will be required on-site as part of your role requires you to on average 2-3 days a week. 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate would ideally drive, but please do apply if you do not hold a driver's licence.
- Degree level or equivalent with professional chartership preferred in their Engineering Discipline.
- Hold a current TUV Functional Safety Engineer accreditation.
- Competence in ICA engineering design, which requires combining technical and other skills, the ability to define a problem and identify constraints.
- Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, data/telemetry networks and Safety Instrument Systems.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety within process control safety systems.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of the technology to improve solutions and improve safety.
