Full Job Description
The Index Review team are responsible for the review, rebalance, and reconstitution of the FTSE Russell index / product portfolio. We are a global group, with teams in Hong Kong, Taipei, London and Fort Mill (USA). We operate a "follow the sun model" with work as a single team across the different time-zones. Please note that the working hours for this position can vary as the business needs require. This means that weekend work, extended hours, and market holiday coverage can and will be expected to meet critical business needs., As a member of the Index Review team, the individual will conduct the periodic Index reviews and rebalances of the FTSE Russell indices. Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Conduct data analysis on the results of index rebalances to ensure the accuracy and quality of the changes of the review
- Conduct eligibility checks on equities potentially entering FTSE Russell indices, through liquidity and free float analysis using available data sources including data vendors, stock exchanges and regulatory filings to research and analyse underlying security level data
- Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to articulate the effects and impact of the index rebalance/reviews on end clients through timely investigation and resolution of any queries
- Raise any issues/concerns to the line manager and report exceptions in a timely manner and highlight and recommend process improvements to your line manager that will improve the levels of quality, productivity & client service
- Strive to constantly improve your skills through training & development opportunities
- Support the onboarding of new business, methodology updates to the team through precise and accurate documentation
- Partnership and collaboration across teams by actively encouraging interaction and providing assistance to others where required
It is encouraged that with limited supervision the individual will deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above, working to strict deadlines and delivering workload to the highest degree of accuracy - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Understanding of the investment management and portfolio construction across asset classes
- Knowledge of performance measurement and portfolio analysis concepts
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritise projects under within expected timelines and identify, flag or resolve potential issues early on
- A consistent record for achievement in delivering a high quality service
- Sophisticated level Excel proficiency as well as experience with a structured programming language such as VBA or SQL
- MS or MBA in finance, financial engineering, economics, statistics, or other quantitative fields a plus
- CFA, CAIA designations (or participation in the programs) also a plus TYPE OF PERSON
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple systems simultaneously
