Full Job Description

An opportunity has become available for a practitioner to join our Healthier Together 0-19 Infant Feeding team in Middlesbrough, this is fixed term until end May 2025. We are looking for an applicant who has extensive experience working with children and families in health or early years setting, including experience of supporting the infant feeding and nutrition agenda, delivering health promotion / training to groups and individuals.

The post holder works as a member of the Healthy weight/infant feeding team, working integrated with Family Hub Teams, being responsible for the training element of the infant feeding offer and supports the completion of the audit requirements for Unicef accreditation which includes Mothers, staff and premises. The Post Holder is responsible for the Breast Feeding Peer support element and volunteering framework within the infant feeding offer. The post holder will contribute significantly to increasing breastfeeding rates in Middlesbrough, therefore reducing inequalities and giving children the Best Start in Life. The post holder will also contribute to processes to progress Breastfeeding Friendly Sunderland The post holder will work with partners to promote Breast feeding and support breast feeding mothers., Support delivery of the integrated Family Hub infant feeding offer. To maintain and further develop a strong volunteer support offer. Deliver training sessions to educate the 0-19 and Family Hub workforce Educate the Community through schools and Colleges, linking to curriculum, deliver education in early years settings, utilise community events and other opportunities. To support the development, maintenance and management of Peer Support roles. Complete audit requirements and keep up to date documentation to meet information governance requirements. Contribute to process and pathway development. Link with external agencies and businesses to promote and increase breastfeeding across Middlesbrough using partnership delivery to develop peer supporters.
