Full Job Description

The Estates, Projects and Masterplanning department is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the Museum's buildings and provides project and programme management oversight, delivery and assurance expertise to the vast range of projects we deliver across the Museum from capital works to temporary exhibitions. Providing a key service across the department, the Information and Records Manager manages all information held and produced by the department, as well as supporting requests for information from across the Museum. You will promote, provide, and maintain corporate advice and guidance regarding Records and Asset Management to the department, wider internal and external stakeholders, and service partners. You will contribute to the strategic development of service improvement and Quality Assurance in records management to respond to operational needs, maximise service provision and cost efficiency. The postholder will develop and maintain appropriate policies, procedures and protocols to support effective and efficient information management and lead in the effective recording and communication of Estates issues internally and externally. The Museum is working towards the adoption of a common data environment and the broader application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) within projects and facilities management will be a key part of this role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a pro-active, reliable and collaborative individual to join a busy and exciting department, and to be involved in projects across the Museum. You will have experience of working in a similar role in a multi-disciplinary environment - ideally within a heritage or public facing function, as well as experience providing technical input and advice to Capital Projects, Project Boards and Working Groups. You will also have knowledge of principles and practices to assess, communicate and improve the quality of data within an organisation, and a practical knowledge of Quality Assurance in records management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and related software, and experience in Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems and Space Databases, as well as experience of working in accordance with BS EN ISO 19650-1 & BS EN ISO 19650-2.
