Full Job Description

Duration: 12-month Secondment (Internal Candidate) or 12-month Fixed Term Contract (External Candidate). (Please note, secondments are subject to line manager approval, please discuss this with them before applying)., The Communications function is responsible for presenting a consistent narrative about the company and its strategy. We integrate Network Rail's long-term business strategy with its external stakeholder communications and internal employee engagement.

What does the average day look like?

As a business partner, you’ll support around 5,000 colleagues who are providing services critical to the running of the railway.

Day to day you’ll be responsible for:

· Helping to deliver Network Rail’s communications strategy

· Supporting the development and implementation of strategic communication plans

· Delivering high-quality engaging and targeted communications through various channels

· Giving sound communications advise to colleagues of all levels

· Education to degree level or equivalent qualification or holds a professional qualification in communications or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience

· Proven experience in successfully shaping and delivering key messages to various audiences and meeting their individual needs

· Ability to provide guidance on communication issues and develop strategies to support business objectives

· Demonstrable excellent written communications skills

· Ability to produce accurate and effective content quickly and to deadlines

· Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· Demonstrable experience of Office 365 and SharePoint

Desirable Criteria

· Experience in video recording and editing

· Experience communicating with harder to reach audiences (not office based)

· Project or change management experience
