Full Job Description

As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting the day to day laboratory execution on a variety of Metabolism studies in order to investigate the fate and behaviour of radiolabelled and non-radiolabelled test compounds in in vitro systems. The scope of responsibilities include study planning and set up, preparing and formulations, performing in vitro incubations (e.g. plasma protein binding, blood cell partitioning, cell culture and sample analysis. You will also support with the validation of new techniques and assay and with the training of junior members of the team. You will be responsible for delivery of data to the Study Director. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous industry experience looking to progress their scientific career however recent graduates are also welcome to apply. Duties Include:

  • Expanding on existing laboratory skillset
  • Setting up and performing appropriate assays based on the study protocol and in conjunction with the study team
  • Participating in study protocol reviews
  • Participating in study meetings (ie pre-initiation meeting)
  • Maintaining study documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Reviewing own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
  • Delivering results within agreed timeframe
  • Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory work environment and performing routine maintenance

    BSc minimum, preferable in Life Sciences subject. Experience may be substituted for education, Previous scientific experience in a laboratory setting in industry along with knowledge/experience of working to GLP preferred
  • Cell culture or PCR knowledge/experience desirable
  • Ability to quickly learn new tasks and methodologies
  • Excellent attention to detail paired with strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
