Full Job Description

  • Design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for a Level 5 Higher National Diploma Course.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students, fostering a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and integrate relevant knowledge into teaching materials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and curriculum development.
  • You should have a degree, and ideally a masters, in a related area (or an equivalent professional qualification), and a teaching qualification is desirable alongside a good standard of education including Maths and English to Level 2 or above. You may also be required to undertake relevant quality assurance training and certification to meet awarding body requirements for assessment and internal verification of student work.     We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Lecturer to join our team and deliver high-quality teaching on our Higher Technical Qualification offer. The college is in the process of developing a Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Digital Technologies for England (Data Analyst pathway). This role will be teaching the content of this course to a group of adult learners. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in the following programming languages and skills:
  • Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, Data analytics and visualisation.
  • They should also demonstrate fundamental knowledge in:
  • Power BI and data visualisation.
  • Big Data technologies, including Hadoop and HDFS.
  • Cloud computing essentials, including cloud access, identity, security, storage, networking services, and cloud databases.
  • Database design principles and data modeling.
  • Data analysis techniques, including regression, transformation, and predictive analytics.
  • Systems testing methodologies and different testing techniques.
  • Additional skills include:
  • Proficiency in tools such as Power BI and Excel for data analysis and reporting., Disability Confident

    Hourly rate within the range £27.20 to £41.14
  • Casual contract, term time only
  • Dependent on skills and experience and includes an enhancement for preparation and annual leave entitlement.
  • Required on a casual basis.
