Full Job Description

A fabulous full time position has become available in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The role could be live in or live out. If live in, there will a private en suite room available., The family is seeking an experienced and proactive House Manager to oversee the daily operations of their immaculate seven bedroom home. This position is perfect for someone with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to manage a busy household. You will play a key role in supporting a family that values organisation, cleanliness, and a friendly atmosphere. You will be looking after the home of a happy family of three, including a little girl aged six years. The hours of the role will be Monday - Friday, 09.00-17.00, with some flexibility. Key Responsibilities:

  • Household Management: Oversee cleaning staff, gardeners, and maintenance personnel; manage contractors and construction workers when needed.
  • Property Portfolio Management: Liaise with the letting agent and manage the communication regarding any repairs, rental issues, etc between the agent and the employer.
  • Housekeeping Duties: Undertake laundry, ironing, changing bedding, and light cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms, in between weekly cleans, to help the house run smoothly. Light gardening (trimming, repotting, etc).
  • Family Support: Assist with childcare routines, including occasional school pick-ups/drop-offs and babysitting, school bag and uniform preparation. You will also prepare healthy and nutritious, family-style meals, following a menu plan and recipes.
  • Errands and Logistics: Run errands, shop for groceries, book appointments, and manage property maintenance tasks.
  • Travel: Accompany the family locally and internationally as needed (short trips). All travel expenses will be paid.

  • Proven experience with young children, ideally with a child around six years old
  • Strong attention to detail and a clean, tidy approach to work
  • Confident driver with a valid licence - a duty car will be provided
  • Fluent in English. Mandarin or French language skills would be a bonus
  • Ability to work flexibly and handle a non-traditional family schedule
  • Experience in high-end homes and knowledge of caring for fine fabrics and antiques
