Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor for a fixed term, 6-month post to work on the Treatment Ward at Peterborough. This role will be a pivotal part of a well-established Multi-Professional Team which includes a substantive full time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work alongside you.,

  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the evidence-based management of patients admitted to the Unit for assessment of their psychiatric condition.
  • Management of patients admitted to the Treatment ward in acute crisis of their mental health, under supervision of consultant psychiatrist.
  • To work with the multidisciplinary team on the unit and other teams within and outside the organisation and share responsibility with them for day-to-day management of the unit and seamless patient care.
  • Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and other disciplines.
  • To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance, audit and research.
  • To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD), supervision and medical appraisal.
