Full Job Description

The EduQuality Manager, Project Management, is a highly varied and multi-functional role who works directly with the Director, EduQuality, to support the day-to-day operations of the EduQuality program implemented by Opportunity International across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean (LAC). The role will work primarily for the EduQuality team while also working closely with the EduFinance Technical Assistance Facility (ETAF), Operations (Ops), and Data & Business Intelligence (BI) teams to ensure effective implementation and coordination of EduQuality activities. RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Program Events Management

  • Ensure that all events and activities under the EduQuality program are delivered on time and within scope and budget.
  • Lead the planning, logistics implementation, and delegation of key program events in all markets, including program launches, Introductory Seminars, Transition Seminars, School Leadership Professional Development, staff training, donor visits, etc.
  • Administration, Budgeting, and Invoices
  • Collaborate with the Director, EduQuality in managing a centralized global budget for all key program activities.
  • Liaise with the Director, EduQuality in effective financial management, tracking, optimization, and oversight of the budget to improve program efficiencies.
  • Coordinate with the internal operations, finance, and compliance teams and other internal functions to support the implementation of the EduQuality program.
  • Manage all external vendor relationships, including ensuring on-time invoice collection and payment, event budgeting, and procurement of capital assets for staff in close collaboration with the regional project management team.
  • Create, update, and maintain operating manuals for EduQuality staff on event management, operations procedures, implementation activities, and tablet management.
  • Manage and delegate printing of program materials in close coordination with the regional project management team.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Oversee the EduQuality management team with all staff and consultant recruitment and onboarding, including initial phone screening, contract requisitions, and new staff training.
  • Donor Reporting
  • Work with the operations team with the preparation and presentation of periodic program donor reporting and other partner reports.
  • Digital Strategy
  • Lead the planning and implementation of region-wise procurement, distribution, and maintenance of digital devices across Asia, Africa, and LAC.
  • Ensure successful scaling of EduQuality digital strategy by closely coordinating with product development and the Data & BI team to ensure greater engagement from school leaders and teacher mentors, effective use of devices, and timely data collection and reporting.
  • Update and maintain databases where required to support the Data & BI team to generate accurate reports and analytics.
  • Strategy and Communications
  • Collaborate with the Director, EduQuality with the design and scale of the EduQuality program to improve educational outcomes.
  • Develop a communications strategy to improve program visibility in EduQuality's local markets, increase brand visibility, and support partnership development with regional and local partners and donors.
  • Special Projects
  • Lead the planning, implementation, delegation, and monitoring of special projects for the EduQuality program.
  • Lead the EduQuality Certification and Awards program, from inception to after-action review and learnings.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • Lead the EduQuality project management team with direct line management of four to six regional project management staff and consultants.

    Bachelor's degree in international development or business.
  • 7 - 10 years of project management experience.
  • Post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Certification in program/project management preferred.
  • Experience working with low- and middle-income communities.
  • Experience working with teams in Africa, Asia and/or Latin America is desirable.
  • Strong writing, data collection, and ICT skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with little oversight.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects in parallel, adjust priorities based on team need and capacity in pursuit of organizational goals.
  • Creative problem solving that leverages critical thinking ability into unique solutions to complex problems and to communicate those solutions
  • An understanding of and a commitment to advancing the mission and core values of Opportunity International
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS Written and verbal fluency in English, additional 1 or 2 local languages required. Must be able to attend & fully participate in meetings conducted in English. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Domestic and international travel may be required (10% domestic, 40% international)
  • Able to travel with short reasonable notice.
  • Willing to travel independently and without escort or planning support.
