Full Job Description

Foundry Lane Surgery is looking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic efficient Medical Administrator as soon as possible to join our friendly team.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of working in a GP practice and be familiar with S1.

The Medical Administrator will provide general admin support to all clinical staff. In addition, the post-holder will also support the Senior Administrator, providing support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.

This is a varied role which will require a well organised individual who is able to prioritise their workload and work on their own initiative.

The Medical Administrator will be required to participate in training and target events appropriate to their position., Support Senior Administrator and all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.

- Complete Secretarial workflow tasks; 2WWs, DART and other referrals, clinical letters, action queries requested by clinicians and other staff, code correspondence accordingly.

- Action incoming safeguarding emails.

- Process SARs, Insurance, Medical and Kinship requests in a timely manner and liaise with patients / outside agencies.

- Record smear results.

- Process new baby registrations, code, send welcome packs and check baby has registered.

- Process Links; including, deductions, privacy officer, new registrations, amendments, GP2GP requests etc.

- Ensure appropriate action is taken for pathology results not related to FLS patients.

- Review records and accurately produce a summary of the patients medical history as requested.

- Accurately read-code data on S1 as required.

- Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary and to include scanning of related documents / attaching scanned documents to records.

- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.

- Act as Records Access Champion and process online access requests.

- Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absence.
