MEH Business Partner

The Business Partner role is a senior member of PPS to act as a dedicated point of contact for the Trust Divisions, responsible for driving productive collaboration between stakeholders and the Procurement function in effective management of non-pay activity within a specific Division, and generally across the Trust.

Key Working Relationships

The post holder will report directly to the Deputy Director of Procurement and will work closely with the Directors/Managers of the various Trust Divisions. The post holder will interact with a range of senior stakeholders across the Trust in supporting individuals to understand their requirements to procure goods and services for the Trust in line with Trust SFIs, and industry best practice and Procurement regulations.

Lead the development and delivery of workplans and effective management of non-pay activities within the Divisions, and generally across the Trust, by engaging with key internal and external stakeholders in aligning their requirements to wider organisation goals.

Main duties of the job

To build good working relationships with divisions to support and undertake a range of procurement projects to achieve added value and cash release savings from service efficiencies (benefits) to the Partner Trusts as well as service development to improve the profile and scope of the PPS.

Develop strong relationships with key influencers within the Divisions to identify stakeholder non-pay issues and identify and manage potential solutions by engaging with both customer and supply markets;

Provide specialist and professional procurement advice to other Partner Trust staff, procurement team members, directors and senior management of the Partner Trusts;

To support and assist the Deputy Director of Procurement in the development and implementation of procurement strategy and operational objectives;

To support and assist with the development and implementation of robust procurement procedures in line with best procurement practice;

To ensure procurement compliance across all Partner Trusts with UK procurement law and Partner Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders in any procurement activity undertaken;

Responsible for contributing to a wide range of external relationships, notably NHS Supply Chain (NHSSC), Crown Commercial Service (CCS), London Procurement Partners (LPP), healthcare suppliers, consultants and Partner Trust advisors.
