Overview of role: As Harry's Support Worker you will assist with all aspects of his health, care and medical needs. Supporting him in his home, school environment and the community. Harry has a busy schedule with therapy, appointments, and activities; your role will be to assist and facilitate him to participate in all aspects of his daily routine and family life. Training is provided, however due to his level of needs, you must come to this role with complex care and medical experience; a large part of this role involves clinical care. The role can be offered as a part-time or full-time permanent contract, please get in touch with your availability. Overtime available to cover staff leave. Team members will be asked to travel to support Harry on holidays in the UK and abroad.

For this role it is essential that you are a driver (with your own car to travel to the family home), a non-smoker /vaper and seeking a permanent position. Complex Care Support Worker, GU3. Full and Part -Time permanent positions available on a care team providing 2:1 support to a charming young chap (7) with complex care and medical needs in Wanborough, Guildford area. Up to £19.00 Gross per Hour

Nearest Tube/Station: Wanborough train station
Wage/Salary: £17.00 Weekdays | £19.00 Weekends | Gross per Hour
Driver Essential? Yes, WAV for use whilst on duty, with your own car to travel to the family home
Essential: Experience supporting a young person with complex care and medical needs (suctioning, PEG, medication management), confident with all aspects of manual handling, excellent communication and writing skills
Desirable: Chest physio, VNS and epilepsy management, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care

Days & Hours: Shifts available: Wednesday 8.00am - 10.00am AND 2.45pm - 8.00pm, Thursday 2.45pm - 8.00pm, Friday: 10.00am - 8.00pm, Saturday: 8.00am - 8.00pm, Sunday 8.00am - 4.00pm

About this client/child: Harry is an almost 8 year old boy; he is a happy, engaging, and cheeky chap. He loves listening to music, painting, sensory activities and playing games with his two younger brothers. Harry also enjoys spending time outdoors where he can listen to the birds and all the sounds of nature. Harry has significant complex care and medical needs; he is totally reliant on others to meet all his needs and is supported by a dedicated care team providing 2:1 24/7. Harry has cerebral palsy, dysphagia, epilepsy (VNS in situ, however, will experience regular seizures), a PEG for all nutrition, fluids, and medication, and requires suctioning. He has a visual impairment, using Eye Gaze Technology to support his communication and is a wheelchair user. He is also susceptible to chest infections, and chest physio is implemented daily and cough assist. He is at the heart of a loving and supportive family, his parents recognise that his team of support workers are instrumental in
his overall development, and they ensure their home is a pleasant and professional working environment.
