Full Job Description

Fantastic opportunity to lead in the delivery of a specialist weight management service, this will be the ideal stepping stone for someone with a degree in Nutrition or related subjects. You may have recently graduated and looking for your first post or you have a bit more life experience looking to do something different. Job Purpose As a Nutrition and Physical Activity Leader in ABLs specialist weight management programme you will be working with adults to support, motivate and advise those who are currently obese. You will be passionate about working with individuals to begin the life changing processes necessary for permanent and continued weight loss and weight maintenance. You will be joining a large team of behavior change specialists in ABL Health including Specialist Lifestyle Coaches, Nutritionists, Dietitians, GPs, Psychotherapists and Exercise Specialists to deliver evidence based, holistic and realistic weight management to people in the community. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), your role will be to provide specialist prescribed exercise and nutrition support (1-2-1 and group) regarding the benefits of healthy eating, and opportunities to reduce sedentary behavior and increase habitual levels of physical activity, to ensure excellent patient healthcare and contractual outcomes are achieved.,

  • Deliver ABL Healths adult weight management programme including nutrition, behaviour change and exercise delivery to groups and through one-to-ones, in the community and through digital methods such as zoom/phone appointments.
  • Produce individual and detailed exercise programmes, considering special adaptations required to accommodate an overweight, obese and physically inactive patient for appropriate physical activity / exercise prescription.
  • Ability to translate physical activity and exercise information into a format that is appropriate and understandable for patients to support compliance with increased levels of physical activity and reduced sedentary behaviour, for habitual behaviour change.
