Occupational Therapy - Development Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy Team. The role will fully engage all the skills of Occupational therapy both the mental health and physical health skills. We are a friendly and supportive team, and we treat people in both acute and community, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues. We offer a preceptorship and monthly clinical supervision along with CPD opportunities. We recognise our most precious commodity is our staff., To deliver an effective, evidence based occupational therapy (OT) service to adults and older people diagnosed with cognitive impairment (including dementia) or other mental health problems, in order to maximise independence and the safe management of their mental health difficulties, and also address any physical needs as appropriate in the mental health setting. To be responsible for assessment, development, implementing and evaluating OT plans using a person centred approach in both community and acute settings. To be involved in liaising and effectively communicating with all relevant parties, including GP's and carers. To promote innovative and creative ways of working with service users/carers with complex mental health needs. To effectively manage the resources available to achieve the best possible care and outcomes for service users.
