Full Job Description

  • Colleague Networks - internal groups where colleagues and their allies can share their own experiences, offer feedback on the way we do things at Greggs, and provide support to one another., As a Van Driver, you'll play a key role in supporting our Greggs pledge commitments by ensuring surplus product is collected from our shops and supply sites and redistributed, where possible, to one or more of our community-based outlet shops.
    • Additionally, when not delivering products, as an Operative, you'll play a key role in the Warehouse including picking, packing and loading some of the nation's much-loved products. You'll need to have a passion for quality and the ability to follow all the correct processes and procedures to ensure the best products are made and our customers are satisfied. What you'll do When out on the road you will work mostly unsupervised, but your role will involve working as part of a close-knit team, in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for local deliveries and collections. You'll be dealing with food, carrying out quality and temperature checks on the products and working in line with food safety and health and safety standards. You may also be expected to work in a chilled environment. You will be responsible for ensuring your vehicle is legally compliant and safe, whilst maintaining a fuel-efficient standard of driving. When working in our warehouse, you'll be dealing with food, carrying out quality and temperature checks on the products and working effectively and safely in line with food safety, health and safety, and hygiene processes. You will also be expected to work in a chilled environment. We'll provide you with the great training and support you need to see your career rise.

  • You have a full, valid driving licence (vocational HGV licence not required)
  • You're comfortable with handling food
  • You have pride in the quality of the products you will be providing customers
  • You're experienced in following processes and procedures and working in a fast-paced environment where timescales and targets are important
  • You're comfortable with driving for long periods of time, standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying, as well as other tasks such as cleaning and working in an ambient and chilled environment
  • Once trained, you'll be able to keep up with the pace of work
  • You are confident working alone during unsociable hours
  • You've had some exposure to using SAP systems (desirable)
