Full Job Description

You will be providing necropsy support within the Pathology team carrying out dissections and tissue processing. The role also involves tissue sample curation, stock control and assisting in the maintenance of the quality assurance and databases. This role reports into the Head of Pathology services and works within a team of Pathology Technicians. You will be expected to liaise with internal and external customers as well as service engineers and suppliers. There may be occasional travelling to attend meetings and training of site. The MRC is an excellent place to develop yourself further and a range of training & development opportunities will be available to you, including professional registration with the Science Council.

  • A record of training in necropsy
  • Experience of routine rodent necropsy techniques
  • Competence and knowledge in necropsy principles and practice
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability work independently and as part of a team
