Full Job Description

1. To contribute to care quality, performance, and clinical activity by demonstrating leadership behaviours', specialist advice and management in the area of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). 2. To demonstrate the values of PBS approach using evidence-based practice when working with people with learning disabilities and autism, who have existing behavioural needs, to ensure these individuals receive a holistic person-centred service with an emphasis on the prevention of behaviours of concern and quality of life. 3. To actively contribute to the development, maintenance, delivery, and review of the PBS pathway. To ensure a quality service that meets the needs of patients, service users and their families / carers. 4. To provide specialist advice, guidance, and support to clinicians across the service in relation to Positive Behaviour Support in line with PBS pathway. 5. This work will be delivered in the most appropriate setting to obtain a successful outcome. 6. You will actively promote and utilise your specialism within the integrated multi-disciplinary teamMain duties of the job

  • To utilise standardised assessments and outcome measures that are based on the best available evidence and maintain up to date knowledge of developments in the evidence base related to area of practice.
  • To carry out comprehensive functional assessment and formulation as part of a multi-disciplinary team for individuals with complex needs using the techniques of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
  • To develop and awareness and understanding of Trauma Informed Support and its relationship to Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Work with stakeholders and lead on the assessment outcomes and the development of positive behaviour support plans to improve individual outcomes.
  • To work to the standards and comply with professional ethics for practitioners as laid down by your governing professional body (e.g. HCPC, NME, SWE), relevant DoH and other local and national standards.
