Full Job Description

At Lloyds Banking Group, we are passionate about delivering high-quality apprenticeship experiences to support everyone to realise their full potential. This is an opportunity to learn new skills, gain a qualification and earn a salary, all while playing an important role in shaping finance as force for good. Our people make Lloyds Banking Group everything it is. They're the ones making the difference to the lives of colleagues, customers, and the wider community. As a People Professional apprentice, you'll help us ensure every part of their experience is the best it can be. If you are keen to make a difference and are passionate about helping others achieve their goals, this apprenticeship could be the perfect opportunity to do work that directly impacts the heart of our organisation, our colleagues. What you'll learn You'll develop a range of human resources (HR) expertise to support the development of people solutions, be ambassadors of behavioural and cultural change, provide tailored advice to the business across a number of HR topics and drive our learning agenda through your work towards your apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will take around 18 months to complete, and you will be placed into one of our HR teams such as reward, learning or colleague journeys. The skills you will cover include:

  • Being a trusted HR consultant, helping our business areas deliver their people strategy
  • Providing support and advice to colleagues
  • Contributing to business change and transformation
  • Building your HR capability and knowledge
  • Using data analysis to address themes and develop solutions
  • Developing relationship management skills.
  • As part of your apprenticeship, you will complete a level 5 CIPD Associate Diploma in People Management. Why Lloyds Banking Group? From building a truly sustainable business to creating a place where people love to work, we need colleagues who are up for the challenge of our bold ambitions. Who are excited to push boundaries and make change happen. Together, we can grow with purpose.

  • GCSE (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 in both Maths and English (Language and / or Literature).
  • These grades can be predicted, but any offer made to you will be conditional upon successful achievement of these qualifications.
  • You'll need to be at least 18 years old on 1st September 2025.
  • Whilst we welcome candidates who have a degree, this cannot be in a field related to the apprenticeship due to a crossover in learning. We'll request a copy of your degree module transcript to review if your degree may contain prior learning.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop. We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we're building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.

You will join us on a fixed apprenticeship salary where you'll be eligible for annual pay reviews. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, your salary will be increased in line with the grade and pay range for your role. We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 22 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies.
  • If you're excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
