Full Job Description

You will be part of the Virtual School supporting and championing the education of children in EYFS and Primary education. You will be part of EYFS/Primary team which consists of a Phase Leader Education Coordinator, PEP Advisory Teachers and you will report directly to the Phase Leader. The purpose of the role is to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the EYFS and Primary curriculum to work with nursery providers, primary schools, social services, parents, carers and other agencies to ensure that all looked after children have the opportunity and support to fulfil their educational potential.
You will understand the principles and complexities of working with looked after children and of preventative work to enable children to remain in education. You will be responsible for attending Personal Educational Plans and Transition meetings. Your well-developed interpersonal/negotiating skills will help you to respond to the individual needs of children, and to mediate and liaise sensitively with different agencies, parent and carers to ensure adequate support is given to timely and smooth transitions of CLA from one education phase/key stage another. Your communication skills will promote excellent educational outcomes and ensure all CLA have access to educational provision which is judged good or outstanding by OFSTED. You must be motivated to work in a culture of rigorous monitoring, accurate recording, reporting and analysis of data for the Phase Leader and wider Senior Leadership Team.
