The role of managing the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) team is pivotal to ensuring the University of Exeter's commercial and residential spaces are safe, compliant, and fully operational. This managerial position requires a strategic approach to planning, monitoring, and allocating resources for the university's statutory and preventative maintenance work. The primary objective is to uphold the highest standards in areas critical to both safety and functionality, such as fire safety systems, alarm monitoring, water hygiene, and residential air quality. The Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Manager will be a highly organized and proactive individual, with strong leadership skills and technical expertise in facilities management. They must possess a thorough understanding of statutory maintenance requirements, including fire safety systems, alarms, water hygiene, and residential air quality standards, ensuring compliance across the university's commercial and residential spaces You will will possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems to effectively plan, monitor, and report on maintenance activities. Strong report writing and data analysis skills are essential, enabling the candidate to interpret complex data, generate insightful reports, and track compliance with statutory maintenance requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, organisational excellence, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Experience in using CAFM systems to optimise maintenance workflows and resource allocation is a critical requirement for this role.
