Full Job Description

The Plant Manager will be responsible for the management and control of the plant book and all hired plant brought on and off the project in Tunnels & Shaft DU,

  • Organise and attend weekly coordination meetings with each section of the area west project to run an up-to-date analysis of plant book
  • Monitor and evaluate all plant activity to create a proactive and efficient environment, this includes but is not limited to, the hiring and off-hiring of plant and equipment on all sites and maintaining the plant book to reflect this.
  • Administration and maintenance of all documentation associated with Plant Management to include live hire report, plant book and E1 (ERP system) reconciliation.
  • Proactively analysing the project's plant book to ensure it provides best value for money and making recommendations to area commercial and delivery leads on benefits/savings
  • Liaising with the Stores Manager and to ensure quarantined plant and equipment is correctly segregated and replaced or fixed in a timely manner
  • Represents the Delivery Team for any Plant Equipment required across the area
  • Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders involved internally and externally
  • Responsible for the Plant Administrator to ensure system on and off hires and reconciliations of live hire reports are completed in a correct and timely manner, You'll be a welcomed member of the wider team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility, join one of our networks for women, military or LGBT+ staff, and participate in cultural and social events with the local community (e.g. as a STEM ambassador).

    Essential: · Previous experience in dealing with Plant Hire on a major construction project · Good working knowledge of IT systems · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to handle large volumes of financial data accurately and efficiently · Professionalism and integrity with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Desirable: · Previous experience working in a similar environment with Plant Hire companies · Attention to detail and accuracy · Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks · Experience of working on infrastructure projects,
  • A physical or mental impairment, which has a substantial and long-term effect (over 12 months) adverse effect on your ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities
  • Demonstrated in your application and pre-interview stage that you meet the minimum job criteria and person specification for the role

  • The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
