Full Job Description

You will work across the organisation (including the Government Affairs, Membership and services teams) to coordinate and deliver for manufacturers, whilst working with the various Government departments to showcase Make UK's research and thought leadership work., + Lead and deliver Make UK's policy initiatives on energy and net zero, ensuring projects align with our lobbying position and are delivered on time.
+ Develop comprehensive policy responses to consultations and inquiries, shaping outcomes for our members while establishing Make UK as a thought leader.
+ Build and maintain strategic relationships with key policy and political stakeholders to enhance Make UK's reputation and influence within Whitehall and Westminster.
+ Collaborate with the Head of Policy to identify, plan, and manage research projects that inform Make UK's policy and public affairs objectives.
+ Represent our members by speaking at external policy committees and groups, ensuring their needs are effectively communicated to policymakers and stakeholders.
+ Support the policy team in managing member policy groups to strengthen policy development and secure a robust member mandate.

As Senior Manager for Energy and Net Zero you will manage and deliver Make UK's policy work on decarbonising the manufacturing sector, net zero and energy., + Proven experience in a net zero, decarbonisation, or energy-related policy role.
+ In-depth understanding of the UK policy-making process, with a track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes.
+ Demonstrated ability to design, manage, and deliver policy projects efficiently and effectively.
+ Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including civil servants and other membership organisations.
+ Ability to respond quickly to developments in a dynamic media and political landscape.
+ Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to audiences.
