General Surgery is a busy department and part of the Planned Care ISU encompassing Urology, Colorectal, UGI and Vascular sub-specialties. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Practice Manager, to work alongside our existing Practice Manager. We are looking for a forward thinking individual who enjoys a fast pace, wants to embrace and suggest change and has a clear direction on engaging teams whilst working in a busy environment. You will need to be able to think on your feet, as well as deal with urgent operational issues as they occur., The successful candidate will oversee line management for the general surgery and urology A&C team. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating leave and sickness for the Consultant Team and approximately 41 Resident Doctors. You will also need to manage complex on call rotas. This post has the support of 2 x Team Leaders., You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time. You will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team with excellent written and verbal communication skills and organisational abilities. The Trust is an ever changing environment and you would need to be able to retain your focus on providing an excellent service., The ideal candidate will have a good standard of education to include GCSE in Maths and English (Grade A to C); have proven keyboard skills and an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Administration. Proven experience in NHS leadership and change management is essential. You will need to be a team player with NHS experience, and using databases such as PAS, Infoflex and Microsoft applications. You should have a good understanding of Cancer and RTT pathways as well as awareness and understanding of other national targets.
