We currently have exciting opportunities for experienced Underwriters to join our High Value Motor team in either York or Bristol. As a High Value Motor Underwriter, you will be responsible for building and maintaining productive relationships with our unique network of NFU Mutual Agents, delivering first class technical support and assistance on renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business. You'll ideally have Underwriting experience and experience of working with High-Net-Worth individuals. As a High Value Motor Underwriter, you will be underwriting risks that meet NFUM's risk appetite and you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues from all areas of the business including, Team Leaders, Senior Technical Underwriters and the Technical Underwriting Manager to ensure that the level of service and underwriting you provide is second to none. NFU Mutual provide a comprehensive induction to the role and will tailor a training plan to suit your needs. Following your induction, you will receive ongoing training which will support your career progression and personal growth. We encourage a healthy work/life balance, and this opportunity will offer you a 35-hour working week, with shift patterns falling between 8am and 6pm Monday - Friday, and no weekends! Our hybrid working model also means you can work from the comfort of your own home up to 80% of the time once you are fully up to speed.
We are looking for a customer-orientated and motivated professional who has High Value Motor Underwriting experience (High Value Motor experience beneficial but not essential as training will be provided). Being a strong team player who is self-motivated and pro-active, you will strive to achieve high quality standards and output, even when challenged and working under pressure. You will be solution focused and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to deliver good customer outcomes. Strong organisation and time management skills are key to achieving success in the role. Collaboration is a key element of this role as you will be working alongside multiple internal and external stakeholders and you should be comfortable with working as part of a team, influencing stakeholders and overcoming barriers to success.
