Private Works Manager

Reporting directly to the Bid Director, you as the Private Works Manager will be leading the Private / Developer works department, pursuing and delivering works for Private sector clients from Site Projects, S278 works, Hard Landscaping to Public Realm type works within the London Markets, the latter being highly desirable. This role of Private Works Manager has 3 key elements that you will be intricately involved with; and have experience within: Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, Build relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors whilst continuously evaluating existing partnerships with an eye toward building on what works and changing what doesn't
• Manage key client relationships and works to build new ones by expanding the profile and reach of the company and its brand. Identifies and recommends new markets and propose and develop strategic partnerships
Estimating
• Analysing tender enquiry documents and Assisting the Bid team with pricing, including building up SOR items from first principals and Drafting BOQ from spec and drawings where necessary to secure Subcontractor enquiries/pricing
• Strong knowledge of Highways Method of Measurement whilst working with our Operational team members for delivery solutions
Commercial
• Ensure governance and contract/legal review processes are followed for all projects.
• Oversee the measurement and preparation of valuations to maximise financial returns under the provisions of the contract conditions and company procedures. You will have overall responsibility for the commercial systems, processes and applications for the department.
• Lend contractual expertise to commercial and operational colleagues at contract level and own/oversee monthly / annual cost and value reconciliations, budgets and forecasts
• Actively build relationship with customers to secure payments within the specified contract terms and manage overall working in progress, debt and stock. Close management of procurement and sub-contractor accounts.
In this role you will be in liaison with stakeholders across the business's of JB Riney, Tarmac and CRH - Contracts Directors - Finance Director - Senior Estimator and QS's teams - Commercial Teams - Project Manager - Agents - Operational Supervisors You must be able to travel across the region of work

To be successful in this role of Private Works Manager, you as the ideal candidate will have experience of a similar position within a comparable sector. You will have a background to support our vision of success coupled with a strong understanding of the systems and processes required to measure and benchmark successes. You will have a strong background coupled with commercial and managerial experience with demonstrable success leading and developing your teams.,
• ESSENTIAL - Relevant Degree or Largely qualified by experience relating to industry standards and/or possess good Higher Education Achievement (HND/HNC Level) - would be considered
• ESSENTIAL - Minimum of 5 years' experience in 2 of the 3 key role requirements - Business Development, Estimating and/or Commercial
• Management Qualification - NVQ 5 / ILM / NEBS
• Extensive experience using Microsoft, Excel, Project, Causeway and PowerPoint packages as a minimum
