Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Property Surveyor within the Asset and Property Management team, The focus of this post is to play a key role in the

  • Management and development of the Council's commercial portfolio to contribute to the aims and objectives of our Commercial Asset Strategy, in terms of maximising income, acquiring new investments, generating capital receipts and growing the local economy.
  • Providing property advice and contributing to the delivery of the Corporate Asset Strategy, working with public, private and community organisations to achieve joint solutions on projects, including the rationalisation, disposal and acquisition of land and property assets

    MRICS qualified
  • Experience in dealing with a mixed commercial property portfolio
  • A team player with experience of working with internal and external partners
  • Experience of carrying out capital and other valuations

  • Based in our award winning centrally located modern offices in York, this is an opportunity to work in a historic city. We offer flexible working, both home and office based, and 25 days holiday (rising to 30 days after 5 years) Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
