Full Job Description

Since 2009 NHS North East Lincolnshire Talking Therapies service has provided low and high intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, couples psychotherapy, Counselling for Depression and Interpersonal Therapy. The clinical team consists of High Intensity Therapists, Counsellors, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Interpersonal Therapists and Employment Advisors., 1.CLINICAL referrals via agreed protocols within the service. and supports people with a common mental healthproblem in the self management of their recovery. patient-centred interviews which identifiesareas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes anaccurate assessment of risk to self and others. decisions on suitability of new referrals, adheringto the departments referral protocols, refers unsuitable clients on to therelevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or steps-up thepersons treatment to high intensity psychological therapy. a range of information and support for evidencebased high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may includeguided self-help computerised CBT, information about pharmacologicaltreatments. This work may be face to face, telephone, groups or via othermedia. and involve family members and others intreatment as necessary. to an agreed activity contract relating to theoverall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried outper week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment deliveryremains accessible and convenient. multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referralsor clients in treatment, where appropriate. all requirements relating to data collectionwithin the service. coherent records of all clinical activity in linewith service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome data inclinical decision making. closely with other members of the team ensuringappropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain astepped care approach. and integrate issues surrounding work andemployment into the overall therapy process and working closely with the IAPTEmployment Advisor service. at all times from an inclusive values base whichpromotes recovery and recognises and respects diversity. 2.TRAINING AND SUPERVISION and fulfil all the requirements of the trainingelement of the post including practical, academic and practice basedassessments. learning from the training programme in practice supervision from educational providers inrelation to course work to meet the required standards. and present clinical information for all patientson their caseload to clinical case management supervisors within the service onan agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and theclinical governance obligations of the worker, supervisor and service aredelivered. to and implement supervision suggestions bysupervisors in clinical practice. in and respond to personal development supervisionto improve competences and clinical practice. 3.PROFESSIONAL the maintenance of standards of practice accordingto the employer and any regulating bodies, and keep up to date on newrecommendations / guidelines set by the department of health ( NHS long termplan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence). that client confidentiality is protected at alltimes. aware of, and keep up to date with advances in thespheres of treatment for common mental health problems. clear objectives are identified, discussed andreviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuingprofessional development. in individual performance review and respondto agreed objectives. up to date all records in relation to ContinuousProfessional Development and ensure personal development plan maintains up todate specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service deliverymodels / developments. relevant conferences / workshops in line with identifiedprofessional objectives. 4.GENERAL contribute to the development of best practice withinthe service. maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, nationaland local policies and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary CareServices. employees have a duty and responsibility for theirown health and safety and the health of safety of colleagues, patients and thegeneral public. employees have a responsibility and a legalobligation to ensure that information processed for both patients and staff iskept accurate, confidential, secure and in line with the Data Protection Act(1998) and Security and Confidentiality Policies. is the responsibility of all staff that they do notabuse their official position for personal gain, to seek advantage of furtherprivate business or other interests in the course of their official duties. We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and dedicated individual qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner or newly qualified. Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners are trained to deliver low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to people with mild to moderate mental health problems. The post initially involves delivering these low intensity CBT interventions in a range of settings - including groups, individual and via remote. The team consists of experienced staff who have been specifically trained to provide supervision.,

  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training.
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills..
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.

  • Received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice.

  • Knowledge :
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.
  • Registered with BABCP or BACP.
  • High level of enthusiasm and motivation.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships.
  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Regard for others and respect for individual rights of autonomy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to be self reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision.

  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health.
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems.
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
  • Car driver and / or ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation.
  • Fluent in languages other than English., Psychology or other health related undergraduate degree.
