QA Test Analyst

This position reports to the QA Testing Team Lead. The objective of a QA Analyst is to test systemic functionality to ensure it works as defined. The QA Analyst will adhere to the Testing Practices and Processes across the whole of Solution Delivery. Including delivery of quality test strategies for projects owned, creating test cases to ensure full scope and coverage has been achieved with a full audit trail. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Represent the testing functionality on Waterfall or Agile projects.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of the testing being conducted in relation to the functional areas of the system and/or entire projects is adequate.
• Work closely with all departments of the organisation in order to complete testing on behalf of Internal, External customers.
• Maintain & execute manual test cases in accordance with the defined Project methodology (Waterfall or Iterative)
• Work with the QA team and independently to identify manual test cases which are suitable for automation.
• Define and input test data into the test environment ensuring accuracy of data before use.
• Interpret and prioritise business requirements to create test plans and scripts following requirements document or User Stories defined by Analysts.
• Propose improvements to Testing procedures.
• Conduct Defect management and analysis, prioritising defects correctly in line with standard
• Maintain & execute test cases including Performance and Load
• Ensuring Risk Based Testing is carried out in accordance with Plan and Strategy
• Adhere to the governance of ustilising Testrail for any testing completed.
• Becoming an SME of the Testrail tool and support others that need it to utilise the system in it's entirety.
• Provide input into test estimates, Test Approach and Test Report documentation.
• Participation in Analysis / Design Review meetings for gathering information for future testing phases
• Provide test support Post Implementation
• Maintain the first line of compliance defence by ensuring department/team/individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance
• Accountable for the testing sign off for a diverse range of projects, enhancements and critical live issue fixes. These will vary in size from minor changes to multi million-pound budget projects.
• Communicate progress to all interested parties within the agreed timescales.
• Support the project methodology within the testing team, flexibility required within the team to work in a Waterfall, Agile or Mixed manner.
• Adhere to governance that is in place with regards risks, controls and all required documentation.

• Experience and knowledge of execution-only stockbroking

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
• Knowledge of project lifecycles including Waterfall and Agile, how testing approaches delivery depending on requirement
• Knowledge of the Financial Services industry
• Understanding of JIRA, Testrail, Confluence, JHC Figaro
• Proficient at using all Microsoft tools
• Excellent knowledge of all forms of software testing
• A basic understanding of systems architecture
• A good understanding of development lifecycle
Non Essential
• Web technologies, specifically on a JAVA platform
• Notes & Domino applications
• Mobile device applications
• IBM iSeries/AS400 platform, particularly DB2 and RPG
• Working knowledge of test tools for Automation and Non Functional - Selenium, Jmeter
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Expert knowledge of testing as a discipline. Understanding of techniques and industry best practise
• Resilient under pressure and ability to manage conflicting demands
• ISTQB/ISEB qualified
• Extensive experience of a range of project lifecycles including Waterfall and Agile
• Worked in the Financial sector
• Influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Communication skills - ability to explain complex issues to all levels
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to prioritise effectively and be committed to the implementation of a project
• Ability to work in a team but also be able to self-motivate under limited supervision
• Good customer service skills in order to support both internal and external customers
• Advanced desktop applications knowledge
