Join our team at our National Records Centre as a Records Controller and make a lasting impact! At Network Rail we understand the value of precise record-keeping. As a Records Controller, you'll be an essential member of our team, ensuring the smooth flow of information and maintaining meticulous records that drive our success. Your meticulous attention to detail will be put to the test as you organise and catalog a vast array of records. From financial documents to client files, your expertise will ensure that information is readily available, empowering our teams to make informed decisions and drive business growth. Team leader experience would be beneficial, as you will be training and supervising the activities of our Records Assistants. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Train and supervise the activities of allocated assistants.
  • To make records available to authorised personnel when required and to investigate the circumstances of requests of records already booked-out or unobtainable and report on the position.
  • Track and control the movement of records and electronic data from/to the Record Centre. Monitor the appropriate use of configuration control to amended records and advise on records format.
  • Managing a team resource to supply information only prints, source records, Computer Aided Design (CAD) files, and data when required.
  • Identify potential areas for improvement to records centre processes and make recommendations. Identify and report any areas of potential non-compliance with the records centre processes.
  • Liaise and visit external contractors advising them of records management requirements.
  • Provide advice on records management, record centre processes and advice on systems in relation to configuration issues and records format.
  • Undertake forecasting of records requests in order to anticipate workload and plan resource requirements., If you would like any reasonable adjustments support during your application or throughout the recruitment process, please do not hesitate to contact the Resourcing Team who will happily assist.

    Salary range: Band 5. £24,000 - £27,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
