Market Analysis & Strategy Development: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities within the construction sector. Develop and implement a strategic business development plan tailored to the unique characteristics and demands of the South West of England market. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management: Actively pursue new customer leads and maintain fruitful relationships with existing customers. Utilise a consultative approach to understand customer needs and offer tailored solutions that meet their objectives. Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with the project management, preconstruction and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion. Collaborate closely with the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Contract Negotiation & Management: Be capable of discussing contracts with customers, ensuring favourable and lower risk terms, appropriate to the project type and customer. Brand Representation & Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking meetings. Build and maintain a strong professional network within the industry to promote our brand and services. Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on business development activities, market trends, competitor analysis, and customer feedback to the senior management team. Use data-driven insights to refine and adapt strategies as necessary.
We are seeking a Regional Head of New Business to lead on multi-sector expansion in the South West of England. The successful candidate will lead a high performing team to drive both business development and framework management to deliver the region's expected growth plan. You will possess a deep understanding of the South west regional construction market and have a proven track record of generating new business opportunities and fostering long-term customer relationships. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent networking and relationship skills, and the ability to deliver results in a competitive landscape. You'll be tasked with pinpointing project opportunities throughout our South West region, leveraging your established expertise in managing and growing business relationships within the construction industry. This role involves actively promoting our services with enthusiasm and authority, providing guidance and direction to potential customers. Demonstrable skills in organising and planning sales activities to support our strategic expansion goals, along with the ability to deliver precise progress reports and forecasts, are critical. It's important that you are a results driven and proactive person, capable of comprehensively understanding the Willmott Dixon service portfolio and independently generating sales leads within both our private and public sector customer bases.,
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute development strategies that have led to significant revenue growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills., Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of the construction market in the South West of England with a particular focus on Bristol
- High level of verbal and written communication skills and networking experience
- Takes a leadership role on external committees and working groups to influence industry and business thinking
- Ability to travel as needed within the South West region
- Comfortable presenting to all levels of seniority
