Full Job Description

Born in Bradford (BiB) is an internationally acclaimed applied research programme which vision to promote a healthier, fairer future for children living in deprived areas. Between 2007-2011 we recruited over 12,500 families to our Born in Bradford birth cohort and have been following the lives of children born to these families ever since. Our oldest Born in Bradford children are now reaching adolescence and on are experiencing a number of key life transitions seeing them progress through adolescence, secondary education and into young adulthood. These are critical periods shaping life-long mental health, cardio-metabolic risk and inequalities, however they are poorly understood.
We are embarking on the next exciting phase of our journey called 'Born in Bradford: Age of Wonder'. This will involve following 30,000 young people in Bradford (including the original BiB cohort and their peers) until age 21 working closely with schools, youth and community organisations to better understand how to keep young people health and happy and to reduce inequalities. We will collaborate internationally to broad-ranging research and discovery science and promote rapid application to policy/practice., We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic research assistant to join us in creating a ground-breaking research programme that will shape the lives of future generations. They will work alongside senior researchers, secondary schools and young people across the district to deliver the research programme, assisting with co-production, the implementation of the survey and measurements, and embedding research into the school curriculum.
