Full Job Description

The General Medical Council is currently looking for a Research and Insight Analyst to work in our Data, Research and Insight Hub. The Research and Insight Analyst, will provide high quality, timely and accurate written insight and analysis outputs to inform policy, process, and operational improvements both within the GMC and for a variety of key stakeholders and organisation across the UK. Your primary focus will be utilising a range of primary and secondary evidence sources on doctors, medical associate professionals, and the wider healthcare environment, to provide insight into the future of professional healthcare regulation and related policy. This means undertaking research projects, analysing datasets, gathering external information, sharing our insight data, and ultimately delivering a suite of reports and papers on health matters. An understanding of regulatory and public policy environments will be a distinct advantage. You will have the adaptability to respond to the changing needs of our organisation and fast-moving policy environment. You should have a sound understanding of research management, horizon scanning and other environmental analysis techniques, while experience of working within a policy and research team would be ideal. Exploring, shaping and undertaking analysis within a small team of research and insight specialists, to support a range of activities including producing publications, presentations and papers for internal and external audiences providing key stakeholders with crucial evidence led intelligence and insight to inform our policy development and decision-making. This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to work at the Manchester office at least once a week, with Tuesday being the current team day.
