We have a great opportunity to join our Data and Register Integrity Directorate as a Risk Business Partner. In this role you will play a key part in supporting the management of risk throughout HM Land Registry (HMLR) by utilising and embedding the Three Lines model into our risk and assurance processes. You will develop expertise in risk management, collect and analyse information to inform understanding of the risk profile and support the development of risk-based decision making across the organisation., As a Risk Business Partner, you will be part of the Second Line function supporting the Head of Risk & Resilience Management. You will provide support, guidance and advice to the organisation on how to manage risks effectively and proportionately and work with the other Risk Business Partners in supporting the organisation to make informed decisions and contribute to the effective management of Principal and Operational risks.
By developing strong stakeholder relationships, you will build understanding and support for your work and that of the wider risk function. You will enable colleagues across all directorates to better identify and manage risks faced and embed effective risk management practices by supporting First Line staff in understanding how they can identify, manage, and report risks and issues, and how and when to escalate appropriately. You will also contribute to key reporting on risks, controls and assurance for senior boards and committees and ensure that risks and issues are actively reviewed.
Please note that due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work full time. Occasional travel, including some overnight stays, will also be required for meetings, projects or national work.
For more information about the role, please see the attached Candidate Pack., In this role, you will be responsible for providing advice and constructively challenging Directors and senior leaders in the First Line on the management of their group and, by exception, highlight any risks requiring their attention. By utilising your strong knowledge and experience in risk management and senior stakeholder engagement, you will confidently advise senior management and First Line leadership teams to equip them with the knowledge and skills to manage their risks effectively and to use best practice methodologies, tools and techniques.
As an advocate for the Enterprise Risk Framework, you will also develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across all management levels, including Internal Audit and other Second Line teams, to generate commitment to risk management goals and to support combined assurance and risk management in HMLR.
You will provide a range of analysis and insights to support the risk management team in ensuring that governance bodies, leadership teams and the risk community take onboard informed decisions about risk management. You will share best practice and take responsibility to develop skills, help visualise an organisational view of risk management and ensure effective controls and assurance., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

To be successful in this role you will hold, or be working towards, an Institute of Risk Management qualification or another professional qualification with a significant risk management component and be able to effectively apply the key principles of risk management.
You will have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to understand and interpret information from a wide variety of sources. You will be able to deliver high-quality information, analysis and briefings clearly and concisely, often against demanding timescales.
It is also essential that you are experienced in presenting to and influencing a diverse range of audiences and working within a team to influence groups of senior stakeholders, utilising business acumen and knowledge to support sound, evidence-based decisions. Furthermore, you will need to have sound experience of working in a changing environment, managing multiple priorities and working collaboratively with others to meet both short and longer-term deadlines.
Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable., + Strong knowledge and experience of risk management and the ability to effectively apply the key principles of it.
