Full Job Description

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively. Amentum are currently looking for a Safety Integration Lead who will report to the Integration Team Bristol Safety Manager (ITBS) and lead all activities which relate to the integration of the safety requirements into the HPC design which are within the scope of ITBS. The main purpose of the role is to deliver on the design maturity, stability and configuration management objectives set by the HPC project and to ensure the timely and effective resolution of cross-functional and complex technical issues impacting the safety requirements integrated within the HPC design. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Provide support and training to ITBS staff on using configuration tools (UKDC/IDT/OPM)
  • Oversee all configuration items and ensure processes are followed, drive design maturity and stability, challenging technical impacts of open points and design changes
  • Ensure ITBS meets project configuration objectives by driving team performance and managing interfaces with key stakeholders as needed
  • Report to ITBS Manager and HPC Technical Director progress against project objectives at Control Tower and ITBS Management meetings, escalating topics when required
  • Act as Level 2 Open Point Coordinator for ITBS scope, attending coordination meetings and validating status in OPM for Level 2 OPs
  • Facilitate the day-to-day implementation of the UKDC process for ITBS, ensuring maturity of impact analyses. Perform the validation of ITBS Design Change Contributions
  • Act as the Entity Interface Manager, manage ITBS Interfaces and attend Strategic Interface Committee meetings
  • Support the ITBS team in performing safety categorization and environmental assessments
  • Manage the safety contribution to the required databases, such as TAGS1D, according to the Data Management process and objectives
  • Ensure the integration of safety requirements into the design and manage interfaces with civil, systems, contracts, etc.

    Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, ideally chartered or working towards
  • Leadership skills to coordinate and lead resolution of technical topics with multidisciplinary teams
  • Robust knowledge and experience of the EPR design and engineering processes
  • Good understanding of requirements and expectations of UK laws, regulations, nuclear industry operating experience and best practices
  • Ability to set objectives, drive performance of teams and report progress to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organisational and people engagement skills
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
