Security - Porter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individuals to join our wonderful Portering and Security Team as we are looking to expand our efficient and high quality service here at Broomfield Hospital therefore enhancing and improving the service offered to all our patients, visitors, and staff., You will be a vital member of the MSE team, undertaking several different roles which include transportation of patients, specimens, goods, blood products, medical gases, and equipment around the site to facilitate the smooth running of the clinical departments and the hospital., We work together, and in conjunction with MSE Health and Care Partnership, to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and wellbeing of our patients in a compassionate way, and provide a respectful, but vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

Previous experience of working in a portering/security role within a hospital environment would be an advantage, but not essential as we offer full-training and support for all our staff.

So, if you enjoy socialising with a variety of people or are someone who prefers an active role rather than an office job, then we are looking for you?, The job is physical in nature and includes the transportation of patients by wheelchair, patient trolley or bed, internally and externally. You will be working with patients so experience of working in a service environment is needed and requires good communication skills.

You will need to have the ability to respond to emergency calls in a calm and professional manner. The role also requires you to undertake mortuary duties including movement of bodies from wards to the mortuary in a courteous, sympathetic manner.
