Full Job Description

This is an ongoing role. The educator will be required to provide consistent and reliable support to the learner over time., Deliver tailored English, Maths, Science and life skills tuition at a KS3 level, adapting to the learner's academic needs.

- Provide ongoing support to help the learner bridge gaps in knowledge and understanding.

- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages the learner's confidence and engagement.

- Use strategies that address the learner's social and emotional needs to promote both academic and personal development.

- Remain patient and composed during times of distress, offering reassurance and a calming presence

This opportunity is seeking a dedicated, patient and compassionate educator to provide ongoing academic support and engagement across all core subjects at KS3 level. The roles initial focus should be building and maintaining trust between the educator and the learner, and fostering a love for learning. This role will involve working with a learner who has EBSA and is currently performing significantly below age-appropriate academic expectations due to large absences from school. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching SEN learners and delivering trauma informed education. They will need to be nurturing, patient, and have a calming presence, as the learner can become distressed and withdraw when overwhelmed or uncomfortable. The educator will also need to support the learner in building their confidence and self-worth to higher levels, as they currently lack this, nor do they have any passions or aspirations for the future. Cooking and life lessons should also be incorporated
into lessons, so the ideal candidate will be confident to deliver this content as well., Previous experience teaching, mentoring or tutoring SEN, SEMH and EBSA learners.

- Experience tutoring core subjects such as English, Maths and Science at KS3 level

- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of an academically struggling learner.

- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.

- Preferably a female educator, as this would align with the learner's comfort needs.
