Full Job Description

  • Innovative Design : Work on the latest sensors and manufacturing processes, designing both products and the equipment that manufactures them.
  • Machine Specification : Design machines incorporating the latest process, inspection, and control systems.
  • Support and Documentation : Assist in commissioning, characterisation, and optimisation of machines, and generate manuals and regulatory documentation for UKCA/CE marking.
  • Team Leadership : Lead a small team, overseeing daily activities and providing developmental guidance and line management., World Leader in Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people's lives.

    Educational Background : Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualifications (HNC/HND) with progressive work experience.
  • Experience : Proven track record in automated production equipment design, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably AutoDESK Inventor) and a drawing management system.
  • Project Management : Experience in leading projects and small teams of junior engineers.
  • Regulated Environment : Preference for candidates with experience in regulated environments.
