Full Job Description
The Senior IT Analyst - Portfolio Solution Lead will help identify, grow and implement world class solutions for our customers, partners and internal organisation. They will become part of a high-performing team focused on the delivery of a key business opportunities within an exciting business segment at Caterpillar. As the Portfolio Solution Lead, you will work with various business teams, key implementation partners and internal enterprise groups to provide oversight and technical leadership in the use of the application suite, including the QAD, SAP, as well as Microsoft Azure, Alteryx and the Snowflake data and analytic platforms. You will work within the IT group to help sustain the value delivered through of the use of existing platforms and provide technical guidance on how to realise new business requirements. This is an exciting opportunity as the organisation looks to grow capability in support of a new product ranges, looking for ways to exploit technology to deliver business process changes and risk mitigation. What You Will Do
- Create and maintain relationships with key business owners, to manage a project portfolio across several functional areas across the Enterprise.
- Be accountable for the business relationship for broader IT functions, responding to customer inquiries related to system enhancements, problems, and information requests
- Consult with and become knowledgeable about the Supply Chain, Finance and Digital Operations functions, what success looks like for the group, the challenges they face and the role of distribution to provide service support for end customers.
- Identify business requirements from customer groups to shape and scope IT projects. Work with internal groups, third parties etc to develop high level objectives and approach to meet stated requirements and aligned to clear business outcomes.
- Via requirements gathering provide costs for project execution and ongoing costs for support.
- Socialise and validate proposed solutions with business partners and Enterprise Architects where required
- Act as a stakeholder to oversee the delivery of projects through the Software Development Lifecycle, working with project managers, analysts, delivery partners, testers, and business leads. Manage product lifecycle for applications to ensure compliance regarding technology and security.
- Through tailored development plans, continue to grow knowledge in all areas of IT to ensure you stay current with new technology options and new offerings within existing applications.
Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design. Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyse and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project. System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms. - Possess the ability to develop solutions for customer issues that are in line with enterprise strategies.

- Demonstrated ability of creating and growing excellent Business Relationships Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
- Proficiency in ITSM and its associated processes.
- Familiarity with using Azure DevOps for managing user requirements.
- Extensive problem-solving skills, including diagnosing faults and root causes through a blend of questioning techniques and personal technical knowledge.
- Capability to guide an offshore support and development team.
