Full Job Description
Responsible for reporting and managing the LCH LTD Technology Risk Profile in the context of its Risk Appetite on behalf of the LCH LTD CIO and LCH LTD Management team. Drive a positive and responsible approach to risk management in an environment of increasing regulatory and audit attention and foster a strong proactive risk culture across LCH LTD Technology. Influence the approach to managing risk, aligning with Group risk, Audit, regulators and other stakeholders. Reports into the Head of LCH LTD technology risk and Controls with a secondary reporting line into the LCH LTD CIO. Interacts closely with Divisional Risk teams (2LoD), Group Technology Risk & Control team (1LoD), and coordinates with LCH LTD and LCH LTD1st line technology teams. Emphasis on influencing teams to enhance their risk management culture and drive the availability of meaningful metrics and data. Responsible to work with LCH LTD2nd line, Group Technology Risk, Technology Architecture, Compliance to drive optimisation of the control process. This will include, but not limited to, improving the SAD documentation to remove the need for specific DORA or ORA documents, Optimisation of the Action Point lifecycle (removal of design memo), Optimisation and clarification of what makes an ORA/DORA classification, more focus on the Inherent/Residual risk rather than a review of tech architecture. Embedding of LCH LTD controls and policies into Group to rationalise the overall process. Role Responsibilities
- Sets and drives the achievement of KPIs and objectives and ensures alignment with the broader Group risk strategy
- Deliver risk and control data analytics to facilitate data driven decisions by senior leaders
- Oversees the identification, analysis and monitoring of key drivers for operational / non-financial risk
- Represents and reports risk to relevant committees, key stakeholders and senior management, providing expert advice and guidance in all matters relating to risk management for LCH LTD Technology
- Stays abreast of relevant regulatory and industry developments, communicating important changes to the relevant stakeholders and making improvements to risk frameworks and processes as necessary
- Quality assures regulatory and audit responses
- Ensures action is taken around risks outside of appetite
- Works to triage incoming demand (2LoD, Group Technology, Audit, Compliance) and provide robust challenge to approach and sequencing to ensure value
- Ensure divisional leaders are managing top risks responsibly
- Ensure high priority regulatory / audit observations receive adequate management response and that proposed mitigations are tracked through to completion with traceable and demonstrable outcomes
- Drive remediation of key risks, audit observations and regulatory requirements, through making transparent and clear the relationship between risk mitigation and the investment portfolio / operational capacity
- Feed audit and regulatory requirements into risk appetite and link to technology objectives, influencing target operating model and investment priorities
- Oversee assurance activities to ensure appropriate and periodic risk management activities are completed to an acceptable level of rigor
- Perform validation testing on control actions
- Review / challenge risk & control assessments and control testing performed by the 1st line technology teams and provide training as required
- Ad hoc projects and initiatives.
Degree or equivalent - Extensive 1st line technology risk assurance expertise in financial services.
