Full Job Description

We are recruiting! This is an exciting opportunity to join our integrated speech therapy team in Suffolk, supporting the delivery of a new post across the acute and learning disability services., We are seeking a therapist who is passionate about delivering high quality, evidence-based services for these populations, who relishes working in a busy environment, and who is skilled at building and maintaining relationships with colleagues across professions and organisations. You will have experience of working with people with complex communication and swallowing difficulties, and be a strong team player who is comfortable with working independently when required.

You will have access to excellent support, and opportunities to develop clinical skills in dysphagia and communication across a range of client groups. The post offers a rare opportunity to shape this new role, while building clinical, leadership and team-working skills.

Our integrated model means that you will benefit from being part of a broad speech therapy team that spans inpatient acute and stroke services, outpatient ENT services (voice and head and neck cancer), community services including stroke early supported discharge teams, and learning disability services. We have specialist therapists in critical care, dementia, progressive neurological conditions, and dysfluency among many others, as well as regular access to FEES and videofluoroscopy to support you to develop skills and work effectively.

We are primarily seeking a Band 6 Speech Therapist, but would be open to applicants working at a band 5 level as long as they are qualified and able to practice independently. While this role will initially be fixed term for one year, there is possibility that this could be extended.

Our philosophy is thatTime Mattersto everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving the things we do and removing those which cause time delays for our staff and patients.

We are investing in our commitment to Time Matters with a partnership with leading electronic patient record (EPR) supplier Epic. This digital transformation will bring what's widely regarded as the world's best EPR system to ESNEFT, transforming life in hospital for staff and patients.
