Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP & YOI Moorland name, a category D Prison located in Doncaster. HMP Moorland is a Male prison and a Young Offenders Institution with a capacity for 1000 inmates and has its own 9 bed specialist ward unit. Hours Monday - Friday (1 in 3 weekends) 37.5 Hours per week, As a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.
  • You must be able to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers.
  • Work with individuals, on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and information.
  • Support in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventions. You will occasionally be required to support dispensing.
  • Have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach
  • encourage patient involvement in regime and therapeutic activities and create a physical and psychological environment conducive to high quality care.

  • Registered nurse Mental Health or Adult Nurse
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience of working with opiate dependant patients.
  • Sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.

    This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £46,200 per annum FTE - depending on experience.
