Full Job Description

Vanderlande have a large site-based Service team at the Asda Warrington Ambient Distribution Centre. The DC has a very large automated materials handling system and runs 24/7 to support a network of stores across the north-west of England. The site team provide support to the operation to ensure high system availability and the fulfilment of store orders. Role Responsibilities This role will include keeping focus on Risks and Opportunities and develops an operational plan to mitigate the risks and secure identified opportunities, able to realize highly challenging KPI's of the system by continuous improvement. Understanding the customer's service business, processes and values and anticipates on this, makes sure it will exceed the current operations in the customer's value chain. Ensures methodical development of new ways of working, new tooling and competencies of department and its employees. Your responsibilities and activities will include:

  • Managing the execution of a large operations contract with a higher organizational complexity
  • Strategic framework development for future vision and pathways.
  • Continuous improvement of the system operations and team performance.
  • Performance communication and reporting.
  • Communication and performance measurement of 3rd parties.
  • Manage operations teams and shift schedules.
  • Ensure optimal man power & skills distribution.
  • Schedule and distribute activities.
  • Locate improvement opportunities, make improvement plan and execute / distribute improvement plan.
  • Rotates staff to ensure wider levels of competence and cover are developed.
  • Communication and coordination with stakeholders during operation and in cases of breakdown.
  • Create backup plan in case of breakdown.
  • Commits to and drives performance improvement.
  • Will liaise with Service team on the impact of operations on the delivery of day to day maintenance activities.
  • Methodologically analyzing and improving departmental processes, such as people development.
  • Performance measuring and reporting for both system and team operations.

    High level technical education
  • Have electrical, mechanical and control knowledge (Technical education)
  • Minimal 5 years' experience in technical function related to controls
  • Minimal 3 years' experience in management / team leader function
  • Communicative and negotiation capabilities
