SET CAMHS (Southend, Essex and Thurrock CAMHS) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic CAMHS Crisis Mental Health Worker within the West Essex locality of Harlow.
This post is open to Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN's), Occupational Therapists (OT), Social Workers, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Psychological Therapists and those with experience in working with children and young people who experience mental health difficulties-this can include counselling, working with charities or within educational settings with a focus on pastoral support. Any experience of working with LAC children or those with complex needs would be advantageous. The post holder will be responsible for providing intervention and support to young people experiencing a mental health crisis with the support of a multi-disciplinary team, this could include offering follow-up support to young people and their families after presenting at A&E with attempts to harm themselves.
The post holder will benefit from being part of a friendly, supportive, dynamic and developing service based within Essex. The successful candidate will work alongside highly motivated colleagues and have access to effective supervision, both individually and group formats, and be supported with CPD requirements through relevant training. There will also be additional training and development opportunities as the service grows and develops., + Experienced in the delivery of therapy/Support to people experiencing acute mental health crisis in both community & hospital settings, NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff)., We are looking for candidates who have enthusiasm and passion for meeting the needs of young people in crisis and supporting the families who support them, being able to respond calmly to risk, as well as being adaptable, creative & engaging, working independently, and understanding the relevance of team working.

+ Experienced in assessing and managing clinical risk, drawing on dynamic case formulation skills & working collaboratively with service users to agree their treatment & safety plans
+ Have an awareness of evidence-based approaches to therapy (including DBT/CBT/Systemic & Creative therapies). Or have experience in working with CAMHS /children's mental health services and providing interventions.
+ Having knowledge, of the legal frameworks which relate to the care & treatment of children and young people, with particular reference to Children Act 1989, Mental Capacity Act 2005 & Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended in 2007)
+ The candidate will possess the ability to work independently as well as being a collaborative & supportive member of the Multidisciplinary Team, & have an understanding and appreciation of the networks that surround young people in a modern age, especially in relation to mental health & mental health crisis.
+ Are flexible in practice & approach & able to carry out high quality Assessments of risk & deliver talking therapy & aforementioned evidence-based informed interventions in a variety of settings.
