Full Job Description

You will have a background in Learning Disability or relevant experience of working with people with a learning Disability and their families. You will need the skills to support the system around our children and young people who will have a severe to profound learning Disability and emotional/ mental health issues.

Driven by the principles underpinning the Thrive model with latest in evidence based NICE compliant psychological interventions to children, young people and their families experiencing mental health difficulties.

As part of the multi-disciplinary team you will:

Undertake school and community based assessments, delivering a range of interventions to children and young people with a Learning Disability

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of care including working/liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and other agencies.

Routinely measure clinical outcomes and deliver evidence-based interventions in line with the Thrive Model

Promote the mental and emotional health of children, young people with learning disabilities and families in the community through clinical interventions

Take part in consultation/training to support internal and external agencies regarding children with additional Neurodevelopmental diagnosis

In return, you will receive training and development, supervision and developmental contact with other professional networks as appropriate.

We are looking for a either a Clinician with a professional registration (i.e. Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist) or two years or more experience of working directly with children or adults with a learning disabilityto come and work within NELFT's Essex wide SET CAMHS Learning Disabilities team.

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
