Full Job Description

To contribute to a comprehensive, co-ordinated, high quality Integrated Community Paediatric Service for children in West Suffolk with neurodevelopmental disorders with a particular focus on school age children. The post holder will contribute to service development and be involved in the assessment and diagnostic processes, including monitoring and prescribing medications. The focus will be to provide specialist nursing expertise alongside the Community paediatricians supporting children through the NDD pathway and running nurse led clinics. To be part of the multi-disciplinary team within Integrated Community Paediatric Services (ICPS), providing high quality evidence-based practice to children and their families., The post holder will: Key tasks:

  • Provide advice and support and manage a caseload of children with neurodiversity, developmental delay and specific syndromes.
  • Actively contribute to service development for ASD and pathway reviews.
  • Steer the pathway strategically and work with the ADHD service.
  • Support in planning assessments for referrals into ICPS.
  • Carry out joint diagnostic assessments with the MDT for ASD, and feedback to families.
  • Monitor and prescribe ADHD and sleep medications.
  • Liaise with other relevant services including GP's, the ADHD service, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Paediatricians, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychology, Health, Education and Social Care, · Provide advice and support and manage a caseload of children with neurodiversity, developmental delay and specific syndromes.
