Specialist Dietitian

You will be responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care for patients referred to our service and will work offering assessments, in clinics, homes and virtual appointments. You will work alongside peers, senior colleagues, a dedicated Band 4 assistant and with other AHPs including speech and language therapists., The role supports patients at risk of malnutrition across Greater Huddersfield, adopting a food first based approach with the appropriate use of oral nutritional supplements. You will be responsible for:

• Your own caseload of patients who require oral nutrition support in the community offering holistic person-centred care
• Joint working with Speech and Language therapist and other AHPs, Social care and Nursing colleagues.
• Offering a hybrid approach including telephone/video clinics and home visits as needed.
• Supporting student placements (A, B and C placements)
• Planning and delivering training (internal and external)
• Triage of new diet referrals as needed
• Supervision of colleagues
  
  We are looking for someone who can work as a specialist, autonomous dietitian with experience in managing malnutrition in the community. You should have strong organisational, communication and leadership skills and embrace the challenge of service development., The post requires a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience.
