Full Job Description

Due to clinical service expansion, we have the following opportunity for enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmaciststo join our team of pharmacists within cancer services. The post holder will provide clinical pharmacy services to cancer patients within the trust., The post holder will:

  • providing pharmaceutical advice to the oncology and haematology directorates within the Trust,
  • ensure effective medicines management and compliance with current standards and statute and co-ordinating the provision of pharmaceutical care to the Clinical Directorate under the strategic direction of the Consultant Oncology Pharmacist
  • ensure compliance with Pharmacy Clinical Governance arrangements.
  • contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and records for the Clinical Pharmacy Service and medicines management
  • participate in pharmacy core duties including clinical verification of systemic anticancer therapies, education and training of pharmacy staff, contribution to pharmacy evening, weekend and bank holidays rotas

    The successful applicants will be an enthusiastic pharmacists with an interest in developing their career in Cancer Services. There may be opportunities for the successful candidate to rotate specialities which can be discussed with the individual. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a postgraduate certificate in clinical pharmacy are required.

    We employ more than 6,500 staffwho deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, healthcentres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.
  • We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services. We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.
