GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN NHS FOUNDATION TRUSTAND THE INSTITUTE OF CHILD HEALTHINFECTION CANCER IMMUNITY AND LABORATORY MEDICINE CLINICAL UNIT12 Month Specialty Doctor IN BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATIONApplications are invited for a 1 year, 10 PA Specialty Doctor post in Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) based at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will join a team of consultants/speciality doctors caring for a wide variety of malignant and non-malignant diseases within the largest paediatric BMT/CAR-T cell therapy unit in the UK which performs over 100 cell procedures per annum. The post involves senior medical supervision of both the inpatient and day-case BMT/CAR-T cell therapy work. When not on in-patient service the appointee will be expected to conduct high quality clinical/scientific BMT/CAR-T cell therapy research/teaching.Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a postgraduate teaching, Daytime responsibility for BMT/CART in-patients

This is the principal duty associated with this appointment. There are currently two consultant-led ward rounds each week. This post holder will lead a weekly ward round, and attend the multi-disciplinary discussions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Additionally, the post holder will be available throughout the day for queries regarding inpatients from SHOs and SpR's. The post holder will also rotate to the international private patient (IPP) BMT/CART/Immunology ward with daytime responsibility for BMT/CART and immunology in-patients. An example timetable is detailed in Appendix 1.

Out-patient BMT Care

The post holder will see outpatients in the weekly BMT/CART clinic, as well as urgent attendances to day Safari / Caterpillar care during the rest of the week. The role also involves liaison with local hospitals involved in shared care of BMT/CART patients.

£59,175 to £95,400 a year (Basic Pay) pre rata per annum
